ZHANG: At least 16 people are dead and nearly 60 wounded after a bomb went off in Baghdad on Thursday. Authorities say the number of dead and injured could continue to rise. STORY: Police say a teenage boy was the suicide bomber who targeted Shi'ites celebrating the end of Ramadan at a mosque in the New Baghdad district of the Iraqi capital. The youth detonated his explosives some 80 metres from the mosque when he was confronted by a security guard. Witnesses say the guard was among at least six people killed in the blast. [Ahmed Masour, Witness]: "It was eight in the morning - a suicide bomber tried to blow up an explosive vest among worshipers but martyr Mohammed, one of the brave mosque guards, stopped him and he did it outside." A second suicide attack near another Shi'ite mosque in the Zafaraniya district of Baghdad was powerful enough to shatter the windows of neighboring buildings.
